Who's Who in the Clergy-Vol.#1 1935-36. (Phenix City, Al.)

Who's Who in the Clergy-Vol.#1 1935-36.- book is complete, Vol I denotes that this is the first time this list of clergymen had been assembled. "RELIGIOUS LEADERS OF AMERICA: Vol. II, 1941-42." was latter released. No publisher name is given anywhere, but the address "277 Broadway, New York" is at the bottom of the title page, and the copyright is by J. C. Schwarz, 1936. The book contains small biographical sketches of thousands of clergymen in the United States, from Protestant, Catholic and Jewish denominations. A one-page Forward by Charles S. MacFarland, who is himself listed in the book, followed by a one-page Preface by J.C. Schwarz. The list is of contemporary clergymen in America, and lists each member's then current position, past positions, names of their parents and if and to whom they were married. This book would be a valuable tool to anyone who is a student of religion in America in that period, but would also serve a useful purpose for anyone interested in genealogy. 1222 pages-Hard back this is a First ed. Very rare- Very good condition and not writings by individuals in the book. $150.

The reason that I came to possess this book is that there is an exert in the book of my grandfather, B.P. Robertson. Grandfather acquired a copy. I have obtained a copy of the exert and framed it. I am passing the book along for future interest in genealogy.
