Floor Technician

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team in Columbus, Georgia. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience stripping, waxing, and burnishing hard surface floors in commercial or institutional settings. Both 1st and 2nd shift positions are available.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strip, wax, and burnish hard surface floors (VCT, tile, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate)
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment including high-speed buffers, auto scrubbers, and burnishers
• Apply floor finish and sealers using proper techniques to achieve a clean, polished result
• Sweep, dust mop, damp mop, and scrub floor surfaces on a routine basis
• Perform carpet care including vacuuming, spot cleaning, bonnet cleaning, and hot water extraction
• Inspect floors for damage, wear, or repair needs and report issues to supervisor
• Mix and apply cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions
• Move furniture and equipment as needed to complete floor care tasks
• Maintain and clean all floor care equipment after each use
• Follow all OSHA safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of services performed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in floor care – stripping, waxing, and burnishing required
• Proficiency operating commercial floor buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and extractors
• Knowledge of floor care chemicals, finishes, and proper application methods
• Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
• Physical stamina to stand and perform active labor for an entire shift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality results
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Reliable and punctual with a professional work ethic
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license preferred
